1. I am looking for Brembo caliper for my bike.
Calipers by Brembo can’t be used for any bike. They can only be used if you are already equipped with a Brembo breaking kit, purchase a Brembo braking kit, or if your bike is already equipped with Brembo material.
2. What king of braking pads would you advise me for my factory standard discs ?
The type of braking pads always depends on what kind of disc you have:
Your choice of brake pads should also largely depend on what kind of driving you are going to do:
- Racing
- Cross/Enduro
Etc…
Each discipline has its own specific brake pads !
3. Is there a complete braking kit for my bike ?
Yes, we produce kits for any kind of bike, even scooters.
These kits normally include one or two discs, caliper, brackets, hose, master cylinder (sometimes).
Examples for bikes: XRR 650 (2000), Y2F 400, WR 400, 426 CBR 900 (98/2000), Y2F 1000 (R1), Many others…
4. Are there calipers with 6 pistons in the production like of Brembo?
Brembo never has not are we planning on starting to develop this technique in the future. We have made this choice and would like to explain it:
With 6 calipers, the brake pads would have to have a greater surface, and the greater the surface, the more important becomes the heat-factor. That increase in temperature, in addition to a decrease of effectiveness, decreases the lifespan of the disc. Also, the longer the brake pads are (which would be necessary with 6 calipers), the breaking distance is farther, and the point at which the wheels block is closer.
We produce 4 calipers, which are proving themselves on the racing tracks of the world
5. Are there spare parts for master cylinder and calipers?
Concerning spare parts for calipers and master cylinders by Brembo: for the entire new generation, no spare parts exist for security reason, and to avoid “do-it-yourself” assemblies.
It would be best to use the braking fluid DOT4 to make sure your connectors and pistons last as long as possible.
7. Can you propose different colors ? (calipers, carrier, brackets)
We give you the opportunity to customize the braking system of your bike by letting you choose its color. Please consult your retailer for the price.
8. Which sort of braking fluid should I use with SEMC Brembo products ?
The fluid you should use is the DOT4 because it is less corrosive for the connectors and the pistons (see FAQ 5.). It has a weaker silicone concentration than the DOT5 or the DOT7.
9. I would like to use the same Brembo material as the GP champions.
The use of the exact same system that is used on actual Championship is imposible. This is due that during the racing season, Brembo surveys the progress of its brakes, and it does happen that there are adjustments made to it to assure maximum performance.
The same braking system (for example le complete superbike) can be bought about 18 months after the season is over.
10. Did your durits or "easy Durits"
adapt themself on all motorbikes ?
Our line of durit can be used for all the bikes on the market. If a bike is net mentioned, or the fork has been modified, we try to obtain all the information and specs about it to create a new kit.
12. I would like to obtain a catalogue of your products.
If you are a
professionnal, write us your demande at :

13. What is the difference between a poured and a machined caliper?
Machined calipers are made of most resistant aluminum alloy, offering maximum rigidity. Calipers “cut in mass” allow, with great rigidity, to achieve an increase in power while decreasing the total weight. They also allow to rid a weak obstruction (inversed fork, rims supermotard).
Poured calipers from the foundry are widely used for factory assemblies because of an innovative scheme combining technical aspects/quality/price as well as their easy adaptation to different factory motorbikes.
14. My bike is equipped with original Brembo materials. What can I do to improve the brakes ?
The original materials by Brembo from your when you buy a bike from a vendor are made for “grand tourism” use. For every other use such as Cross/Enduro or racing, you can improve the brakes of your bike for that specific purpose with one of our kits. |
