There are fixed, floating, wave and floating-wave discs.
Fixed and Floating discs FERODO :
All FERODO discs are manufactured with a lser cut, heat treated, high carbon stainless steel that provides :Tous les disques Ferodo sont fabriqués en acier inoxydable à haute teneur en carbon et découpés au laser. Ils garantissent :
higher friction coefficient .
improved wear for both disc and brake pad
increased strength
There are 3 family of FREODO discs :
RX : A full floating disc, alloy bell, designed to eliminate warping from overheating with 9 buttons.
RF : A full floating disc, alloy bell, designed to eliminate warping from overheating with 6 buttons.
R : A standard, one piece disc, designed to increase performance and wear over overheating.
Disques Wave Galfer :
Wave discs are steel floating discs, designed for World Supersport Championship. They are also called “flower discs”, because their braking surface resembles the shape of the flower.
The Wave models result from a technology under Galfer licence
Product description :
- Aluminium bell.
- 5 mm stainless steel braking surface.
Product Commentary :
- weight advantage.
- immediate hard braking, followed by a great feeling.
- Constant usage of the braking surface avoids glazing.
- Constant pressure on 3 points by the braking pads allows for uniform wear.
- Good calorific dissipation.
- These discs are used on almost Japanese and European bikes on the market.
Advantages of a floating wave disc :
Same characteristics as the wave disc with the following additional advantages :
- By way of 12 centering studs the braking surface is auto positioned for the braking pads, absorbing all the deformations and dilations when the disc is getting hot.
- The floating system also absorbs the defects coming from the wheel, the play, and general driving.
- The bell of the disc is made in the mass, in highly resistant aluminum.
- Available in different colors such as blue, red or black without additional cost
Disques Racing SEMC-Brembo :
This floating disc made with stainless steel result from the BREMBO technology.
The advantages of steel floating discs are numerous :
an improved absorption of temperature variations,
the thickness of the breaking surface of up to 5 mm, which makes these discs more resistant to wear and tear, and gives them a longer lifespan.
The aluminium bell is made directly by our workshop SEMC-BREMBO and is available in many models. Our knowlege allow us to propose you the best choise in braking dics for the most bikes on the market. We can also make bell on demand.
